Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank Data Centre
Data centre infrastructure for a major international institution.
CBTGC's Australia-New Zealand Division connects CABR-backed technical expertise with international project-delivery experience — across buildings, infrastructure, data centres and low-carbon urban development.
The Australia-New Zealand Division is part of China Building Technique Group Co., Ltd. (CBTGC) — the largest subsidiary of the China Academy of Building Research (CABR), China's central building-research institution since 1953. Founded in 1987, CBTGC integrates research, planning, design, construction, supervision, consultancy and testing under one group, and brings that depth to clients across New Zealand and Australia.
New Zealand sits on an active plate boundary, so seismic performance is central to building here. Through CABR — China's national building-research academy — and CBTGC's own engineering, we bring research-backed seismic isolation, energy dissipation and performance-based design to the region, ready to apply to New Zealand conditions alongside locally registered engineers.
Base-isolation systems that decouple a structure from ground motion, sharply reducing the seismic forces a building has to carry.
Damping solutions that absorb earthquake input and protect the primary structure — such as viscous, metallic and buckling-restrained devices.
Performance-based design and seismic assessment for tall and complex structures, backed by independent peer review and retrofit expertise.
Our seismic work draws on CABR's role in China's building and earthquake-resistance standards, proven on major projects in one of the world's most seismically active countries.
Seismic engineering for New Zealand projects is carried out together with locally registered engineers and to the applicable New Zealand standards.

Our New Zealand entity is registered and open, and we are actively taking on our first local projects. Whether you have a project, want to partner, or want to build the team with us — now is the moment to talk.
Bring us your project — seismic and structural engineering, data centres, green building and more. Early clients get direct access to our senior specialists alongside local delivery.
We deliver with New Zealand-registered engineers, contractors and consultants. If you're a local practice, let's collaborate on projects across the region.
We're growing our New Zealand team — engineers and project professionals who want to bring research-backed building technology to the region.
